Marketo Launchpoint vs. ExactTarget’s HubExchange vs. Hubspot’s Marketplace vs. Eloqua’s Appcloud vs. Pardot App Center

Marketing automation software has the power to revolutionize the way marketing department work, however, before opting for one, you must assess the features, integration functionality and ecosystem of each of the leading players in the industry. The simplest method to find this is by comparing their respective market places.

The next few sections will give you the best comparison analysis involving the Marketo Launchpoint marketplace and with other major providers.

Marketo Launchpoint

Marketo Lauchpoint was introduced in November 2012 and ever since then its reputation continues to grow very rapidly. It has about 200 application partners and 30+ solution partners. In the integration market place, Marketo has only 12 'Marketo Integrated' products.

Marketo has a developer platform (developer.marketo.com) plus an open API to support LaunchPoint clients. Additionally, it has got a well-defined application on-boarding process. With all of this, expect Marketo Launchpoint to grow at a much faster rate.

ExactTarget’s HubExchange

Established in July 2013, HubExchange is just six months old in the marketing automation software market. It offers significantly less applications than that of Marketo Launchpoint, with 79 listed. The majority of HubExchange apps are integrated with ExactTarget and comes with full functionality support.

HubExchange is separate to ExactTarget’s partner website, the Orange Partner network. Again, ExactTarget lags behind Marketo Launchpoint in solution partners as well with just 9 listed. With close to 99+ listed, ExactTarget certainly leads in total number of channel partners they've.

Unlike Marketo Launchpoint, ExactTarget doesn't own a developer website. ExactTarget also uses an open API and provides comprehensive API documentation. With Salesforce recent acquisition of ExactTarget, we will need to wait and watch whether ExactTarget could build its position from Salesforce's massive App Exchange.

Hubspot’s Marketplace

Launched in July 2011, the Hubspot's Marketplace is over two years old. Marketplace has multitude of service partners (240+) and it also features 500+ templates designed and developed by third party designers.

But, Hubspot’s Marketplace has a noticeable lack of third party applications, which is certainly odd considering it has a dedicated developer site and an open-API. The reason is, Hubspot does not promote API-only integrations however it recommends Marquee to their customers as a high value and quality integration.

Eloqua’s Appcloud

Introduced in July 2011, Eloqua’s Appcloud is two years old. It's got a respectable 100+ integrated applications listed; this is certainly quite a few more than Marketo Launchpoint.

But post January 1st, 2014, developers need to be a part of Oracle Partner Network if they want to build applications. So anticipate seeing a significant drop of newly built apps in their market place.

Topliners is the Eloqua's community website dedicated mainly to developers. Eloqua lists 35 partners (and that is a small number when compared to others) and their listing is actually separate from the Appcloud.

Pardot App Center

Pardot’s App Center is pretty small, with 30+ applications listed. But, it doesn't have a dedicated market place website.

Pardot feature an API console and a dedicated website for developers. Again Marketo Launchpoint partner list is higher than Pardot's number since the later has just 35+ partners.

Among the many contenders, Marketo Launchpoint ( http://hooshmarketing.com.au/blog/marketo-launchpoint-vs-the-rest/) has lots of features that the other programs were lacking plus it seems very apparent that Marketo emerges out as the preferred automation tool in the market place. Only ExactTarget's Hubexchange is loaded with similar features like Launchpoint. All these things demonstrate the Marketo's strength in integration, partnerships and ecosystem.
